RAYNALDY WISELY SUCHIADY. Design and Development of an Augmented Reality Module Using Meta Spark Studio as a Learning Media in the Augmented Reality Course (supervised by Ingrid Nurtanio)
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that integrates digital content with the real world in real-time, providing an interactive and immersive visual experience for users. AR technology has advanced rapidly and is considered a pillar of the Industry 4.0 revolution. With significant potential in various sectors, this technology is continually updated to enhance functionality and usage in daily life.
This study aims to design and develop an Augmented Reality learning module using Meta Spark Studio. The module is expected to enhance students' knowledge and skills in creating simple AR projects, both Marker-based and Markerless categories. Additionally, the study aims to compare the effectiveness of Patching and Scripting methods in AR project development using A/B testing algorithms.
The study employs a module development method consisting of several stages: module title selection, project creation, 2D/3D asset import, patching and/or scripting, module creation, and feasibility testing. The feasibility test was conducted on 10 Informatics Engineering students at Hasanuddin University who took the Augmented Reality course.
The results show that the AR Meta Spark Studio learning module is highly feasible with an overall validity score of 94.55%. Moreover, the Patching method is preferred by students over the Scripting method as it is easier to understand and use. This study concludes that the Patching method is more effective for AR project development using Meta Spark Studio.
